What happens if there is a medical crisis? Will my loved one be cared for?

Tracey Johnson, LPN, CC

Halcyon Hospice offers crisis care for patients who are in need of acute symptom management and choose to remain in their home rather than moving to an inpatient setting. The Medicare Hospice Benefit allows for crisis care, which is provided by a hospice nurse or other hospice staff members during the time of a medical emergency in order to provide symptom management and/or caregiver education and support. The crisis care team can remain in place until the medical crisis has been resolved.
